Welcome to the Alliance Protein Laboratories, Inc. web site! APL offers contract research services in the areas of proteinDoes APL only work with proteins? and peptide biophysical characterization, protein aggregation, protein purification, and protein stabilization. If you are looking for analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC), circular dichroism, light scattering, DSC, fluorescence, or native gel analysis of your biotech product, or help with your protein aggregation problems, you have found the right place! We have now done such analysis on literally hundreds of products, giving our scientists unparalleled experience.

APL has recently upgraded our CD capabilities by installing a new state-of-the-art Jasco J-1500 CD. We have also upgraded our DSC capabilities with an automated MicroCal capillary DSC instrument, allowing higher throughput at lower cost.

APL has also demonstrated a new sedimentation equilibrium protocol that allows us to measure the weight-average mass of highly concentrated protein formulations (up to ~200 mg/mL) to characterize the weak attractive or repulsive interactions between the protein molecules (colloidal stability), and which requires only ~20 microliters per sample (per concentration).

Why should you choose APL?

  1. We've been doing this for over 18 years and have completed over 2,100 projects for 400+ clients world-wide.
  2. At APL the experiments and data interpretation are done by recognized experts with extensive experience in these biophysical techniques, not by a technician, and on our own equipment, not in a university lab.
  3. We've already worked with over 250 biotherapeutics and vaccines, including most of the major biotech products (cytokines, interferons, growth factors, scores of monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, viral vectors for gene therapy ...), and we have already been working with biosimilars for over 13 years. That collective experience helps us interpret our data, and can help get your product to the patients who need it!
